Farewell Celebration of Helena Roerich Academy of Arts for Children

On November 30, 2025, a farewell celebration was held in the Music Hall of the Helena Roerich Academy of Arts for Children at IRMT: another academic session had come to an end, and the Academy's students were about to enjoy a long winter break. The celebration was organized by the Academy's teachers: the esteemed Anshul Kumar, Mamta Thakur, and Sapna Thakur. Throughout the school year, they worked selflessly, giving the children their love, care, and attention. Let us give the floor to senior music teacher Anshul Kumar:

“The programme began with a peaceful Saraswati Vandana, creating a calm and devotional atmosphere. This was followed by a Shiv Bhajan offered as a prayer to Lord Shiva. The children then presented a harmonium solo, accompanied by tabla played by fellow students, filling the hall with harmony and focus.

The celebration continued with dance performances including folk, film, and semi-classical styles. The children danced with joy and confidence, bringing colour, rhythm, and expression to the occasion. Each performance reflected their learning and love for the arts.

The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Ms. Larisa V. Surgina, Russian Curator, IRMT, who warmly appreciated the children’s performances and admired the efforts of the teachers. She also invited the children to participate in the Christmas celebrations, which brought excitement and smiles. The programme was also attended by Mr. Dmitry Surgin, Assistant Curator, and Mr. Amarjeet Anand, Accountant, IRMT, who encouraged the children to join the new session starting in April 2026. The Academy also missed the presence of Mr. Suresh Kumar, Indian Curator, whose guidance and support are always valued.

A special moment of the day was the announcement of the Best Student of the Year awards, recognising dedication and consistent effort:

Senior Group: Avni Thakur

Middle Group: Nandika Sood

Junior Group: Shreya

All the children present were awarded certificates for the successful completion of the 2025 session. Along with the certificates, the children were also given Russian souvenirs and sweets, adding happiness and a sense of celebration to the moment.

As the celebration came to an end, the hall was filled with mixed emotions — happiness for achievements, pride in progress, gratitude for guidance, and a gentle sense of goodbye as the academic session came to an end.

It was a meaningful day that left behind warm memories for students, teachers, and parents alike.”
