“Strokes of Life”. An exhibition of paintings by Manpreet Kaur at the IRMT

From June 15 to 18, the International Roerich Memorial Trust hosted an exhibition of paintings by Indian artist Manpreet Kaur from Ludhiana, Punjab. The opening ceremony brought together guests, many of whom already know and love the work of the artist, as this is the second time Manpreet Kaur is presenting her paintings in Kullu. 

The Chief Guest was Mr. Nakul Khular, recipient of the Excellence Vijeta Award, director of the prestigious Taj Group’s Hotel Baragarh Resorts and Spa - IHCL SeleQtions, Manali, famous Orchardist/Social Worker. Sh. Harish Vaidya (Retd. SDO, Tourism deptt.) and Sh. Chhavinder Thakur (Senior Advocate and Journalist) were invited as Special guests. On behalf of the Indian-Russian IRMT team, the guests were welcomed by Larisa V. Surgina, the Russian Curator of the Roerich Trust, working here at the direction of the International Center of the Roerichs, Moscow.

Manpreet Kaur is a painting and teaching artist. She is the recipient of many national and international prizes and awards received for outstanding achievements in the field of art and teaching painting. Manpreet Kaur is a participant in various exhibitions and seminars; her students have repeatedly won various prizes and awards. 

The artist uses acrylic, oil, watercolor, mixed colors in painting; she is also passionate about arts and crafts, creating works from jute, clay, paper and other materials. The paintings in the "Strokes of Life" exhibition depict vivid natural landscapes, colorful flowers and birds, and expressive portraits. Manpreet Kaur's works attract with their brightness, purity of colors, softness of lines. They breathe with charm, love and beauty.
