“Palette of Joy.” Exhibition of paintings by Simrit Luthra and Parvin Kaur at the Roerich Estate
From June 1 to 4, visitors to the International Roerich Memorial Trust had the opportunity to get acquainted with the work of two famous Indian artists: Simrit Luthra and Parvin Kaur. Russian and Indian curators of the IRMT Larisa Surgina and Suresh Kumar, together with Pushpinder Bhatia, solemnly opened the exhibition, which featured more than 30 paintings by the artists.
The main source of inspiration and creative meditation for Simrit Luthra and Parvin Kaur is nature—which is probably why the artists' paintings looked so harmonious in the same hall.
The lovely flowers in Simrit Luthra's paintings and the picturesque birds in Parvin Kaur's paintings aroused sincere admiration among the exhibition guests.
According to Simrit Luthra, flowers are a source of enchantment that leads to a world of dreams; they are the soul blossoming in nature. When painting flowers, the artist experiences warmth and joy and strives to share her feelings and emotions with everyone through the colors on the canvas.
Parvin Kaur draws her inspiration from the beauty of nature and human emotions. For her, birds are a symbol of freedom, a symbol of the human soul. She strives to convey her feelings of joy and wonder on canvas. Painting, says the artist, is a return to herself.
Honored guests and visitors to the exhibition expressed their gratitude to Simrit Luthra and Parvin Kaur for their creativity, and the artists thanked the IRMT management for the opportunity to hold the exhibition in the blessed Himalayan estate of the great Russian artist Nicholas Roerich.
