Birthday of Helena Roerich in IRMT
142nd Anniversary of the birth of Helena Roerich was celebrated in the Roerichs Estate on 12 February. Warm, transparent and almost spring morning started with traditional pooja at bronze busts of Helena and Nicholas Roerichs. Poojary from Krishna Temple dressed the monuments with flowers and performed a feast ritual in honour of an outstanding Russian woman — a philosopher, writer, public figure, the president-founder of Urusvati Himalayan Research Institute, the partner and inspirator of her great husband.
An exhibition of four young Indian artists Shobhli: Life and Art dedicated to Helena Roerich was opened in the Exhibition Hall of International Roerich Memorial Trust. The artists in their works shown at the exhibition presented their vision of Himalaya nature, national culture, problems of modern society.
It is the first exhibition for Monica Chauhan from Kullu. Her pictures are landscapes from night fantasies, beautiful gardens, waterfalls in mountains, colorful Tibetans ornaments.
Deepika Gautam showed her conceptual series Connecting Visions. From one side her paintings are about admiring nature. From the second side they are about fun and relaxing through art. From the third — about searching resources of energy needed for everything being alive on the planet.
Art of Deepali Verma is about love to bright Himachali dresses, simple life in mountains, about joy to see pine trees and deodars, watch sunrises and sunsets.
Vipul Arora presented his photography exhibition Changing Perspectives. His idea is changing perspectives of our vision can heal our society of some social problems. Vipul is an experienced photographer and designer, a member and awardee of many exhibitions in India.
Ramesh Chandra, Indian Curator of IRMT and Natalia Zubchenko, assistant of Russian Curator of IRMT officially opened the exhibition. The bright and interesting exhibition stimulated an excited conversation about culture, its value for the society and necessity to study self expression through art and beauty.
