Appeal about Peace and Culture

News /...

On 15th April 2021 in many cities of the world there was a solemn celebration of the International Day of Culture dedicated to 86th anniversary after a day of signing the Roerich Pact — the first ever international document for culture treasures protection. The initiator and inspiratory of the Pact was Nicholas Roerich — the worldwide famous Russian artist, scholar, traveller, peacemaker and public figure. By Nicholas Roerich’s belief the society had to play the most important role in culture and peace preservation on the planet: “We shall not tire of repeating that in addition to recognition by the government active public participation is needed. Cultural values adorn and elevate all life, from small to great. Therefore an active care about them must be evidenced by all”.

At the holiday of 15th April International Centre of the Roerichs in Moscow conducted an on-line program “Appeal about Peace and Culture” dedicated to the Roerich Pact.
