The Mahsu Art Creativity Camp in the IRMT

The young artists from different corners of India, including Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab, and also from Nepal arrived to the International Roerichs Memorial Trust on June 1 to carry out the Art Workshop and Exhibition under the open sky. All of them are the members of the Mahsu Art Society (Shimla, Himachal Pradesh), the aim of which is to give the opportunity to the young artists to improve their skills and present them to people. This is Mr Bhader Singh, Asst. Professor in Painting, Rajakiya Kanya Mahavidyalaya (RKMV), Shimla, who takes the active part in organizing exhibitions and Mahsu Art Camps. Due to his efforts the members of the society made a few visits already to the Himalayan Roerichs’ Estate, taking inspiration of its creative atmosphere and of the beauty of the mountain scenery.

During those five days the visitors of the IRMT had a chance to see the pieces of the artworks and to watch the process of their creation. The artist worked in various genres and styles, thus uniting in their artworks the old traditions of Indian paintings and modern art tendencies.
