Punjab Artists Exhibition in the Roerichs’ Estate

From May 15 to 19, 2019, an exhibition of young artists from the Punjab state of India was held at the International Roerich Memorial Trust.

Gurpreet Singh an artist from the village of Mansa presented his paintings in the Roerichs’ Estate not for the first time. Landscapes and views of his native Punjab, scenes of street life, paintings on historical and spiritual themes were made in different techniques: water color, oil on canvas, acrylic and mix media on canvas. Artist told that he had already painted more than 2000 paintings. Gurpreet Singh has his Master Degree in fine arts from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. Presently he works in Y.S.School Barnala (Punjab) as a Fine art teacher and freelance artist.

Most of the paintings by Amreek Singh are made in watercolor, which allows the artist to convey the softness and lyricism of Punjab nature, its ancient temples, and its inhabitants. Mr. Singh is a Master in Fine Art, presently works in Cambridge school, Mansa.

The exhibition also displayed the works of two students Maninder Singh and Fatehveer Singh, for whom the exhibition at the Roerich Estate became a real gift and a source of inspiration for further creativity.
