“Desert Strokes” by “AAKAR” Art Group from Rajasthan and Women Artists from Chandigarh and Mathura
On June 2, 2019 a very bright and rich exposition opened in the Exhibition Hall of the International Roerich Memorial Trust. To the attention of the tourists and guests of the Roerich Trust there were presented the artworks of the famous modern artists from the state of Rajasthan and from the cities of Delhi, Chandigarh and Mathura. The honourable guest was Ms Sonia Thakur, Heading Reservation and Guest Relations Manager at Heritage Village Resorts, Manali.
Professor Sadhna Sangar from Chandigarh and Dr Uma Sharma from Mathura are big friends of the IRMT and it’s not their first time when they bring their paintings to the Roerichs’ Estate, having deserved a sincere love of the numerous admirers of their art creations. But the artists of “AAKAR” Art Group from Ajmer, Rajasthan, came to Naggar for the first time and on the very first day they won the hearts of visitors by the versatility of their themes and the brightness of Rajasthan palette. The expressive depiction of Ganesh and tender women images, multicoloured silhouettes of Radha and Krishna and enchanting landscapes of Rajasthan, tranquil Buddha’s face and the coloured expressions of the abstract paintings filled the space of the exhibition hall with the atmosphere of creativity and inspiration.
