Insight Group Exhibition at the Roerich Estate in Naggar

On 20th June, the International Roerich Memorial Trust (IRMT) hosted an inauguration of artists from the Insight Group, curated by Sikander Jangra, who is also an organiser of the exhibitions and an old friend of the IRMT. The exhibition featured a selection of over 60 works by artists from diverse regions across India. The following artists had their works exhibited: Kiran Yadav, Tamanna, Puja Bhardwaj Jagota, Punam Rajput, Ritu Manchanda, Nazma, Hamshit Verma, Alka Sharma, Akanksha Sharma, Shilpi Jain, Dr Pawan Kumar Saini, Akhilesh Kumar Gupta, Payal Tomar, Ashoka, Dhruv, Dilip Chandaulia and others.

The exhibition was officially opened by Suresh Kumar, the Indian Curator of the International Roerich Memorial Trust, and Larisa Surgina, the Russian Curator of the Trust and employee of ICR Moscow. The opening was attended by Dmitry Surgin, Assistant to the Russian Curator, and Olga Karaseva, as well as  IRMT stuff and a number of guests.

Artists have presented their works to guests. The exposition featured a range of paintings representing various styles and genres of Indian art, employing a variety of artistic media. The works of artists Punam Rajput and Puja Bhardwaj showcased their own interpretation of traditional Indian folk art and craft motifs, including madhubani and kantha. The exhibition also featured a range of other works, including realistic oil paintings by Akanksha Sharma and Ashoka, watercolour portraits by Akhilesh Kumar, abstract watercolours by Shilpi Jain, monochrome watercolours by Dhruv and Ritu Manchandra, paintings created using acrylic colours by Payal Tomar, Tamanna, Dilip Chandaulia, and abstract works by Nazma and Hashmit Verma, as well as other paintings.

Larisa Surgina, the Russian Curator of IRMT, highlighted the diversity of the artists' works on display at the exhibition. She noted that all of the works are unified by their aspiration to achieve the ideal form of expression. She wished further success to the artists and, as a source of inspiration, quoted Svetoslav Roerich's renowned maxim: "Let us always strive for the Beautiful!"

The curator of the exhibition, Sikander Jangra, expressed his gratitude to the IRMT for the opportunity to use such a prestigious exhibition space and for the warm welcome extended to the artists at the Roerich Estate in Naggar.

Suresh Kumar, the Indian Curator of IRMT, noted that the Trust is always pleased to act as a platform for such events, and that fruitful cooperation with artists is one of the Trust's key areas of work. He extended an invitation to the artists to present their show exhibitions at IRMT.
