Opening ceremony of the exhibition "Nicholas Roerich. Eternal"
On March 4, 2025 at the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) in New Delhi at the opening ceremony of the exhibition "Nicholas Roerich. Eternal" dedicated to the work of the outstanding Russian artist and philosopher Nicholas Roerich, the Ambassador of Russia to India D.E. Alipov delivered a speech. He emphasized the significance of the work of Nicholas Roerich and his family members for Russian-Indian mutual understanding and long-standing friendship.
G.S.Shekhawat, Minister of Culture of India, and S.K.Gautam, Director General of NGMA, also addressed welcoming words to the visitors of the exhibition.
The event timed to the 150th birth anniversary of Nicholas Roerich was attended by representatives of Indian government agencies and diplomatic corps, public, academic and cultural circles, mass media, Russian compatriots.
At the end of the solemn ceremony there were performances of folk songs and dances by the folklore ensemble "Bermyanchek" and folk group "Zakaria" from the Republic of Tatarstan.
The evening ended with a tour of the exhibition, including about 80 paintings by Nicholas Roerich, as well as several paintings by his son Svetoslav Roerich from various museums of India and private collections.
