On 9th October 2020, the day of 146th birth anniversary of the great Russian artist Nicholas Roerich, the IRMT presents the virtual exhibition of drawings by the young artists of India and Russia «Nicholas Roerich - Master of the Mountains».

The exhibition presents the works of participants of the International Children and Youth Festival «Russia - India: from heart to heart».  The festival began its journey in 2017 in India, at the Roerich Estate in the Himalayan Kullu Valley, where the great Russian Roerich family lived for almost 20 years.

The exhibition includes the works of Indian pupils of the Helena Roerich Academy of Arts for the Children (IRMT) and students of the schools in the Himalayan Kullu valley. The creativity of Russian children is represented by the works of young artists from five Russian cities - winners of the regional competitions of the festival «Russia-India: From Heart to Heart». The drawings express admiration for the work of Nicholas Roerich, who in his paintings revealed Russia, the beauty of whole world and greatness of the Himalayas - a mysterious mountainous country.

Nicholas Roerich loved beauty, embodied it in his paintings and bequeathed this beauty to the future generations. The exhibition «Nicholas Roerich - Master of the Mountains» is a vivid evidence of the art and work of the Master, as Jawaharlal Nehru noted, «... continue to live and in reality more durable than human life ...».
