Nicholas Roerich’s 146th Birth Anniversary
Nicholas Roerich’s Birth Anniversary on 9th October 2020 in the International Roerich Memorial Trust was celebrated among the team and some guests. The Autumn Festival that is organized these days in the Roerich Estate every year had to be canceled due to pandemic.
The high day started by the tradition with a festive puja next to the memorial stone of Nicholas Roerich, the Samadhi place of the Great Russian artist. Inspirational prayers of the pujari from an ancient Krishna Temple and a special spirit attitude of the participants at the solemn ceremony created sublime holiday atmosphere.
Then the puja continued at the bronze busts of Nicholas and Helena Roerich that were unveiled in the Estate exactly a year ago. Ramesh Chandra, Indian Curator of IRMT and Natalia Zubchenko, a representative of Russian Curator put flower leis on the monuments.
Also later that day it was an inauguration of a paintings exhibition in IRMT Exhibition Hall. The painter is Mira Kudriashova, a young painter who has been living in Naggar for six years. Inspired by Nicholas Roerich paintings Mira creates landscapes of Naggar full of love to India and Himalayas.
To wrap up the celebration Ramesh Chandra, Indian Curator on behalf of himself and on behalf of Larisa Surgina, Russian Curator congratulated everybody with 146th anniversary of the Great Russian Maharishi and appreciated the employees for their team work and mutual support in this tough year.
